As some of you may have noticed (looking at you Denarr), Prelude II was not posted last night. Paradox will only update Tuesday nights for now. Maybe this will help explain.

When I started Portal, I never expected people would actually read it. I’ve told the story about how my ideas were waking me up at 3 a.m. and wouldn’t stop until I wrote them down (all true). I’m not a writer and this is something I do on the side for fun and sanity. It is also WAY down the list of critical things in my life; my faith, my family, and my real job always come first. If you followed the dramatic saga of The Forgotten, you know that work piled up last month and it got to the point I had no time to write. That happens when you are working 50-60 hours a week.

Between the time of Portal’s completion and Paradox’s beginning, my father in law was diagnosed with cancer. I’ve already lost my mother to cancer several years ago, so this a hard reminder that our parents will leave us one day. My in-laws are also our part-time babysitters so now my writing time has been reduced so I can help more around the house. If you have small children under five, you know that they can do a lot of damage in a short amount of time.

So that is where things stand. Paradox will be once a week, perhaps with the occasional bonus chapters on Thursday or Friday. I do appreciate everyone who visits the website and I enjoy reading all the feedback. Thanks!
