All Good Things Must Come to an End

If you are current on Portal, this might not come as a shock to you, but the book is almost over. I’m not Drew Hayes and I don’t write 300k word books with 30+ characters. I don’t know how he does it, but its way beyond my current skill level or sanity. When I started Portal, the plan was approximately 100 chapters of 1000k words each. After this week, we will be at Chapter 95.

What does that mean after book 1 is done? Well, I get to rest for a few weeks as I work on building the buffer for book 2. As of now, I’m looking at starting book 2 either September 2, 2014 or October 2, 2014.

This site will be active during that time. I will continue to work on the character portraits and backgrounds, plus I will release tutorials on how I create my characters in Daz3d/Photoshop and the comic book looking backgrounds. If I push myself, I’ll even release a new version of the website. And I’m always active with the Pen and Cape Society.

Also, I’m starting a sci-fi serial story on Drew’s StarterSerials.com called The Forgotten. The site opens in a couple of weeks and I’ll post new chapters once a week, typically on Sundays. I’ll update everyone more when everything goes live.

In August, I will release a prequel short story (~5500 words) that was going to appear in the PCS Anthology, but, due to story timing and editing, was held back. Inheritance, will focus on S.W.A.T. officer Thomas Collins and his partner during one of the most violent bank robberies committed by Enhanced in the history of Los Angeles.

As always, plans are always subject to change on a whim or my enjoyment of the vacation. Thanks for sticking with me this far. I look forward to the next few weeks as we finish Portal.
