I tried to avoid it, but thanks to spammer bots blasting the comments section, I need to require login again to comment on the chapters. If you have a Wordpress.com account, you can use that instead of registering. I  strongly encourage comments from readers and I read each one.*UPDATE* Of course, now I'm getting spam registrations. I installed Captcha on the registration form to limit that in the future. I must say, these bots are unrelenting. I wish I had Net's powers to go after the computers that are running them.

Portal – Chapter 96

The sword sliced the steel like cotton threads and as the last cable snapped, Archangel climbed out of her net. She was still in shock after what she just saw; Michael was a walking weapon and Maze was alive - and still standing next to her. At least that shadow morpher retreated once Michael flew away. She tried to remember every detail about him so she could enlist Net’s help to find him in the JTF criminal database.“Are you okay, Archangel?” Maze asked like a father to his daughter that scraped her knee. She could not see his face underneath the cloak but his eyes were from a man who sincerely...

Portal – Chapter 95

He finally spotted him, Black Knight, as he disappeared and reappeared on rooftop to rooftop before stopping to meet a group of his gang. He was fast and unpredictable, and unlike most teleporters, he did not need to recharge. Even though direction had no meaning to him, Michael leaned forward until his body was nearly inverted and vertical before power-diving. As he gained speed, a portal appeared in front of him.Michael appeared as a quick blur emerging from the sister portal before he slammed against the earth with his superdense body, sending Southside gangsters in all directions. Black...

Portal – Chapter 94

“Go help him,” Trauma yelled as the sounds of gunfire increased above them. “Get the guy in the street back there.” He followed her fingered to a figure lying prone in the street, the same man he slammed on his brakes to avoid crushing.Thorton crouched down as he moved, occasionally looking up as thunderous booms and piercing shrieks echoed between the buildings. When he got back to base, he was going to have a serious discussion with Agents Prescott and Edwards. Their recruits, especially Archangel, were insubordinate and disrespectful to their superior officers. He looked forward...

All Good Things Must Come to an End

If you are current on Portal, this might not come as a shock to you, but the book is almost over. I'm not Drew Hayes and I don't write 300k word books with 30+ characters. I don't know how he does it, but its way beyond my current skill level or sanity. When I started Portal, the plan was approximately 100 chapters of 1000k words each. After this week, we will be at Chapter 95.What does that mean after book 1 is done? Well, I get to rest for a few weeks as I work on building the buffer for book 2. As of now, I'm looking at starting book 2 either September 2, 2014 or October 2, 2014.This site...

Portal – Chapter 93

The leader in armor laughed as he lowered his rifle..“And there you are, the teleporter Michael Larson, callsign…” The leader stopped suddenly and looked to one of his lieutenants.“No callsign? I like a man who can buck a trend. Hello, Michael. I’m Black Knight. Welcome to my new kingdom. You like what I’ve done with the place?” he said as he swung his arms and the rifle around in a circle. “It could use a little more bloodshed, I know, but we’re getting to it.”Michael continued to approach, his face smeared with dirt, debris, and blood, his blood-red eyes burning...

Portal – Chapter 92

“Net, where are they coming from?” shouted Archangel as she barrel-rolled and dove between the closest buildings.A new stream of bullets and tracer rounds lit up the night sky and forced her to fly low to avoid them. She might be invulnerable to bullets, but they still hurt and only a fool would not consider a magic BB, that one bullet that gets through the defenses. The term came from pilots in the military that are shot, and sometimes killed, by small-arms fire from the ground. Archangel covered her face, the most vulnerable area, and dodged and weaved until she was several blocks away...
